Exclusive: Arsenal star to consider his future at the end of the season

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney will consider his future at the North London club at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Scottish left-back has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates this season and he has started just four league games this season. A player of his potential need to play more often and he could look to leave the club if things do not change.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s exclusive substack column with CaughtOffside that the Gunners will decide on his future at the end of the season. The Londoners are currently focused on winning the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Nuno Tavares is currently out on loan at Marseille and his long-term future will also be decided at the end of the season.

“Tierney will decide his future at the end of the season, also Nuno Tavares on loan is another factor to consider. Arsenal want him to be 100% focused on the second part of the season, they’re not in talks with any club now”, Romano said.

The Gunners are at the top of the Premier League table right now and it is understandable why they do not want to focus on transfers right now. It remains to be seen whether they decide to cash in on Tierney and Tavares in the summer.

Tierney is a highly-rated defender with a bright future. Mikel Arteta needs to have a deep squad in order to compete on multiple fronts and Arsenal should do their best to convince him to stay and fight for a place in the starting lineup with Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Arsenal are likely to play in the Champions League next season and Arteta will have to rotate his squad. Tierney should get ample opportunities to play if he can stay fit and impress in training.
