It’s being claimed that Mauricio Pochettino will look to hold talks with Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, the player’s future is currently in doubt.
Football Insider has reported that the Argentine wants to keep hold of Mount, but he has no say in the Blues’ financial decision-making.
Fellow Premier League side Liverpool have been linked with the England international in recent times. The 24-year-old’s deal at Stamford Bridge runs out in the summer of 2024.
Mount has had some strong campaigns during his time at Chelsea, but this season he hasn’t been quite able to replicate those numbers.
With the Blues performing poorly as a collective in the 2022/23 campaign, the midfielder is not the one to blame soley for their current situation.
Under Pochettino, there will be some hope and optimism that he can turn it around. Considering his age and the talent he’s shown in the past, keeping hold of Mount does make a lot of sense.
Losing him to another Premier League club could back to haunt them as many at the club will be more than aware of his skillset.
