Spurs executive director wants club to bring in former FA Cup winning manager

Tottenham Hotspur’s executive director Donna-Maria Cullen wants former Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers to take the reigns as the new Spurs boss.

That’s according to FootballTransfers.com, who also claims that chairman Daniel Levy is against appointing Rodgers. Cullen is hopeful that getting the ex-Foxes man could help Tottenham land both Youri Tielemans and James Maddison this summer.

The same report also states that Levy has been talking with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner about the currently vacant role.

Brendan Rodgers

After an overall dismal campaign, Rodgers was sacked by Leicester earlier in the season, with the club still currently fighting for Premier League survival.

Under the Northern Irish manager, the highs were very high with the club winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield in 2021.

The lows were catastrophically low. Over the last year or so the manager’s tactical know-how and decision-making seem to regress at the King Power Stadium, with a number of playing being said to slowly lose faith in the 50-year-old.

From a Spurs perspective, the appointment of the ex-Leicester and Liverpool boss will raise eyebrows. Which is certainly understandable.

Rodgers is arguably one of the Foxes’ best-ever managers, but slowly over time, it went from a dream you didn’t want to wake up from, to a horrific nightmare.
