‘Frustrated’ 25-year-old certain to leave Crystal Palace

Jean-Philippe Mateta is fed up with life at Crystal Palace and wants to leave the club.

That’s according to a recent report from L’Equipe, who claim the French attacker is ‘frustrated’ with his lack of playing time and is eager to force through a move elsewhere.

Having started just six Premier League games this season, Mateta, 25, is clearly out of favour at Selhurst Park, and with his contract not set to expire for another three years, it is understandable why there may be concerns over his lack of first-team action.

Although there is a ‘concrete offer’ from an unnamed club in Italy, it is expected that the 25-year-old will move away on loan before either returning and challenging for a place in the Eagles’ first team or leaving on a permanent deal this time next year.

  1. From here in the Midwest U.S., I like J.P. a lot. In an interview after his winning Leicester goal, it came out that he is a big opera fan. He has unlimited potential & at plus 6 ft 4 & still growing at 25, you can’t teach height. There is a lot of jealousy at CP. No one gets the forwards the ball according to Tony Gale. It happened with Benteke & now it is happening with Mateta. With the right type of coaching, this guy is a “monster”. He absolutely cannot be handled but you have to give him the ball. He jumps out of the stadium. Find a coach to develop him. Hodgson won’t do it.
