The summer transfer window may have closed but the Premier League teams can still sign free agents.
Aston Villa have made some big name signings this summer with the likes of Moussa Diaby, Pau Torres, Nicolo Zaniolo and Clement Lenglet all coming in. They have also signed Youri Tielemans on a free transfer.
The club are playing in Europe this season and have had a brilliant start to their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign, beating Hibernian 8-0 on aggregate to advance to the group stages.
But the defeat against Liverpool showed that Villa might have to bolster their squad further if they want to keep up with the tough fixture schedule that the European competition will bring with itself.
And although the transfer window is officially shut, they might be able to find some decent options in those who are free agents.
