Soucek and Coufal told Moyes to go and sign 21-year-old striker for West Ham

It’s abundantly clear why West Ham manager, David Moyes, might be looking for a new striker in the January transfer window, given that his only two realistic options as a target man are Danny Ings and Michail Antonio.

The Scot will know that he can’t keep on relying on Jarrod Bowen to fire the bullets, so a winter purchase is almost a given.

Trying to find a high-quality exponent for a relative bargain price in today’s market is almost impossible, though the Hammers might find that they hit the jackpot if they follow the advice of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal.

As far back as 2021, per The Athletic (subscription required), both players recommended a then 18-year-old Adam Hlozek to Moyes as the type of striker that would benefit the east Londoners.

That report suggested that the manager was reticent to move for the player at that time because of his age and limited experience.

However, fast forward to the present day, and 90Min suggest that Hlozek remains high on the club’s radar and a potential loan deal in January now makes him an attractive proposition for the Irons.

Given that he’s now had the experience that Moyes thought he lacked two years ago, it would be remiss of the manager if he wasn’t to go after the player.
