David Moyes to walk away from West Ham in the summer

Posted by

David Moyes may potentially leave London Stadium at the end of the season, as there are no indications of the manager signing a new deal with West Ham, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported on February 11th that Moyes “keeps his own counsel,” indicating that the possibility of him walking away from his position at the end of his current contract is not out of the question.

Despite his recent successes with the Hammers, Moyes reportedly feels underappreciated by some fans due to growing concerns over his team’s style of football.

There is indeed significant speculation surrounding Moyes’ potential extension at the London Stadium, particularly given the criticism he has faced despite West Ham sitting in eighth place in the Premier League and being contenders for success in the Europa League.

Although there are some fans’ dissatisfaction with the style of football under Moyes, it would seem prudent to secure him with a new contract, especially considering the challenging years West Ham has endured prior to his arrival.

Comparing the situation to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, where complaints about style are also present due to its repetitiveness, despite their dominance, highlights the complex relationship between playing style and results. While West Ham’s approach may differ, it has proven effective nonetheless.

  1. Are you utterly deluded. Our football is not effective, it is a disgusting abuse of the talent we have in the team. Moyes has overseen the 5-0 debacles at Fulham and Liverpool, being humiliated by Bristol City, and now our second worst home defeat ever. His football is backwards, negative and is affecting good players. He still hasn’t sorted the CF position in 3 seasons. Open your eyes and see reality, until he is gone we will not move fwd as a club.

  2. Would you want to play in a team where, week in week out, for a significant amount of time you don’t have possession of the ball. It is tiring and demotivating. As a youth player would you want to play for a manager who says it is almost impossible to play in the PL under 21. Would you play for a manager who picks his team based on favourites and not form. After 4 years we are still woefully short of having a competitive team/squad. Get real and get rid.

  3. I have been a supporter of David Moyes on both occasions he has been West Ham manager. Recent results have changed my mind. This is a team capable of being excellent with the addition of a couple of players. Under DM they have become flakey ,tired and dissinterested, and this has to be blamed on the Manager. The apparent inability to sign enough good players says it all. Time to go David, and thankyou, but enough is enough.

If Graham Potter is interested then he would be the right man for the job.

  4. You know what’s wrong is you West Ham supporters, when was the last time you won a Cup, last year when thanks to David Moyes your team won the Europa Cup and where did they finish in the Premiership. If Moyes doesn’t get any money to strengthen your team then who’s at fault why did Rice leave because there was no commitment from the directors to get new players. Who’s your striker Bowen, Antonio he’s injury prone and strikers aren’t cheap to buy, so tell the directors to splash the cash.

  5. look at it this way,. wet spam fans leaving at half time. gives you more family time, and time to clean your caravans. you already have a £1 week rental stadium, with no debt. won the inter toto cup last year, and claim to be champions of Europe. dont stop giving us other fans a laugh
