Liverpool keen on signing €70m-rated Argentine midfielder

Argentine midfielder Alan Varela has been linked with the move to the Premier League and Liverpool are thought to be keen on the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.

He has a long-term contract with the Portuguese club and he is likely to cost a premium. A report from Footmercato claims that the 22-year-old has been likened to the former Argentina international midfielder Javier Mascherano and a number of clubs are keen on him.

Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and PSG are keen on the 22-year-old midfielder and he is likely to cost around €70 million.

Varela is quite young and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a key player for Liverpool. The Premier League side need to sign a quality defensive midfielder. They need someone who can protect the central defence and break up opposition attacks.

Alan Varela could transform Liverpool

  1. Endo is doing a good job at the moment but we need someone younger who can be there for years to come. I think Varella would be a great fit for Liverpool. If we don’t pay the money someone else will.
