Man City eye stunning £100 million move for Premier League star, Guardiola is a big fan

Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly considering whether to pursue highly-regarded midfielder Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United.

As the summer transfer window draws near, the 26-year-old joins a lengthy list of rumoured Man City targets, with Etihad management reportedly paying close attention to the midfield positions.

Due to Kalvin Phillips’ difficulties and expected departure in the upcoming months, along with doubts over Bernardo Silva’s long-term future, Pep Guardiola may consider adding new players to his squad in the summer.

As a result, it appears that City are considering a variety of players, including Lucas Paqueta of West Ham, Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen and Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich.

However, a recent claim has connected one of Eddie Howe’s squad members to the Premier League winners.

Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle is a player that Man City are ‘exploring the idea’ of signing during the next summer transfer window, according to information provided by FootballTransfers’ Jacque Talbot.

As part of their continuous search for more robust midfield alternatives for the upcoming season, the Etihad Stadium team are reportedly showing “huge interest” in the Brazilian midfielder, according to “sources close to the situation” cited in the story.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of City specifically, is reportedly a big fan of Guimaraes’ “versatility and tenacity,” and he also has a soft spot for Lucas Paqueta. But it’s said that a transfer is “unlikely” due to the West Ham player’s continuous off-field problems.

How Man City can sign Bruno Guimaraes

FootballTransfers reports that only the activation of the player’s £100 million release clause will push a deal over the finish line. As such, Man City cannot hope to negotiate a better deal for the Brazil international with the Magpies.

Bruno Guimaraes, who has made 38 appearances for Newcastle United in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and dishing out six assists, is once again at the centre of everything good that Newcastle are doing this season.

  1. The question of the Premier league’s tendency of apologising for poor officiation is of no significance. Clubs lose points because of referees non-neutrality when officiating. LFC could have been seven points better by now had referees not been biased. In Matches against Arsenal Man.city and Spurs could have got Seven points. It could have boosted them. However it is not the càme because referees are bribed.
