‘Never say never’ – Man City star opens door to move to Saudi Arabia

In a recent interview, Manchester City captain and England international Kyle Walker expressed openness about a potential future move to Saudi Arabian football.

The 33-year-old full-back’s future at Man City has been called into question recently after nearly leaving the Etihad Stadium by considering a summer transfer to Bayern Munich.

In the end, Walker chose to stay at Man City after Pep Guardiola and the squad presented strong arguments for his retention.

Walker was also elected as the team’s new captain when Ilkay Gundogan left for Barcelona.

Even though the right-back recently signed a new deal, some people still have concerns about his long-term future, and the player himself seems to be open to the notion of leaving the European game.

Speaking recently on the FIVE podcast, he told listeners that he still thinks the Premier League is the greatest league in the world and the finest location for players to compete, while still leaving open the possibility of a future in Saudi Arabia.

“I’ll never say never,” Walker responded. “The money that they’re paying and everything is obviously a massive factor in why they’re going out there. (Cristiano) Ronaldo opened the pathway for everyone to go there.”

He wants to keep playing for Man City right now

Regarding the future of Saudi Arabian football, the City captain continued: “If they keep attracting the player they’re attracting the league will get better so why wouldn’t you want to go?

“But for me the Premier League is the best league in the world so I want to compete in this league for as long as possible and as high as possible.”

The 33-year-old full-back is not the only City player linked with a move to Saudi Arabian football.

His teammate Kevin De Bruyne is attracting interest from the Saudi clubs who are looking to make a lucrative offer to the Belgian midfielder.

The money being offered by the Middle East clubs is even too much for the cash-rich Man City.
