Juventus emerge as favourites to sign Man United outcast

Juventus are prepared to make a move for Manchester United player Mason Greenwood.

The attacker is currently on loan at La Liga outfit Getafe, where has has impressed clubs with his performances this season.

Atletico Madrid and a number of other European teams have shown interest in signing him after keeping a close eye on him at Getafe.

A strategy has been developed by Juventus to sign the controversial Man United winger and they are leading the race for his signature, according to iNews.

Prior to images and videos circulating on social media during the 2021–22 campaign that allegedly showed him acting abusively and displaying contrilling behaviour, the 22-year-old Englishman showed promise as a young prospect with the Red Devils.

With 31 games in all competitions, 10 goals and six assists, he has been a standout player for Getafe this season.

After being tempted to sign Greenwood at the end of the season, the Serie A team is now much more serious about signing the player, and Cristiano Giuntoli, the sporting director, wants to bring him to Juventus.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, new co-owner of Man United, stated in February that he will assess Greenwood’s situation and make a decision regarding his long-term future after his minority acquisition.

The Red Devils have slapped a £40 million price tag on him, but they are not in an a hurry to let him go—a loan transfer is not completely off the table.

Opening negotiations with Greenwood over a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams is another option on the table to make sure they don’t lose him for free, since his current deal expires in 2025.

Getafe would want to keep the Man United outcast but Juventus are prepared to fight for his services and make a move for the young attacker.

It remains to be seen if Greenwood becomes a part of Man United’s reported fire sale in the summer or he is sent out on another loan move.
