Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has helped the club to the top of the table in the Premier League and the Champions League this season.

Despite missing the penalty against Real Madrid in the Champions League this week, the Egyptian attacker has carried the Liverpool attack on his shoulders this season.

His brilliant performances have started the Arne Slot era at the club in the best possible manner.

In 12 Premier League matches this season, Salah has been involved in 16 goals while in five matches in the Champions League, he has played a part in five goals.

The Reds have still not offered him a new contract with the player in the final year of his contract at the club.

The player has publicly claimed that he is waiting to receive an offer from Liverpool, putting pressure on the owners and the management to sort out his contract.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that the Liverpool attacker wants a three-year deal to stay at Anfield.

He said:

“Both sides probably want something done, but it’s going to be around the detail. He wants a three-year contract to stay, apparently, from what I’m told.

“He may be trying to pile pressure on the owners to try and get this negotiation over the line.

“It’s business, and it’s a legitimate tactic.

“I’m sure there has been discussion about terms. It could come down to whether he gets a two or three-year contract, but we’re coming to a crucial point in these negotiations now.”

Liverpool should keep Mohamed Salah at all cost

The player will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January which means Liverpool cannot waste any more time to sort out his contract.

He is crucial to Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

His performances this season have proved that he is still one of the best players in the world and the Reds cannot afford to lose him at any cost.

Signing his replacement in the market would not be easy and the question is, can Liverpool sign someone as good as him?

The fans have called on the owners to accept the demands of their favourite player and offer him what he wants.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are already looking at replacements for Salah.

  1. It makes finacial sense to give him what he wants. Say he wants 3years at £400k/wk. a new signing may cost £60m and £200k/wk so the difference is £10m a year in wages. The amortization of the £60m is £12m/yr on a 5yr contract. So 2m/yr less to keep him. Also he is unique in that if we decided to sell him at anytime in those 3yrs , the Saudis would take on his contract and pay a good fee which is 100% profit. Edwards should just shut his computer and get it done!

      1. Not right at all! If it was for greed he would have gone before, he’s clearly stated he wants to stay. Work out costings & it shows its worth while to keep him because even at 35 the Saudis will pay a hefty fee for him.

    1. Edwards its not the problem and all of us Liverpool fans know that 😀 FSG just open the bag and gave THEM what they deserve… TAA VVD AND SALAH we need them !

      1. Salah does not need fsg money
If he was a money grabber he would of went with Henderson to Saudi and he can still go for double his salary

    2. It makes mpre sense to offer him a 2 to 3 year contract (but have within that same contract that after 1to 2 years Salah could be sold at Liverpool’s request to a wealthy Saudi football club at a sizeable profit (f it suits all party’s).
To let him leave on a free transfer, even at his age would be nonsensical and frankly bad business.

      1. Hids salary is not higher than man city star LDB. And asking 3 years not 5 still his age lower than Real madrid LM now at 39.
FSG dont too petty, look at what Salah give to liverpool pool nowand previous season.
January he will be a bosman player to negotiate with any club with free transfee fee.

    3. And what if his performances drop? After he signed his last contract, when he returned from the afcon, he didn’t have a great 2nd half to a season and what makes you think if we decide to sell him within those 3 years ,it’s a 100% profit, that’s not how contracts work. If “liverpool ” decide to self him , we have to pay his contract up “if” he wants to go or he can sit and run his 3 years down. Best way is to lower his salary and give him an higher performance bonus

      1. For goodness sake, you can’t think that Salah wants to ever sit on the bench…He loves every second of every game..Pay him whatever he wants..Players of his quality are as rare as hens teeth…

    4. … and if his performance goes down the drain and no offers come in for him while he’s sitting out his contract, we lose the 60m and still have to buy someone else. It’s called risk management …

      1. No we lose £30m not £60m. But that wouldn’t happen, that’s my point. The Saudis would pay over £30m for him if he only had 1leg, he’s the greatest Muslim player in the world. He also wouldn’t want to end his career sitting out a contract. The nonsense you’re talking is not risk management it’s risk aversion!

  2. Once he getsbthe moola his form. Dips, we dont need him, VVD, and Trent, they can all leave, we are a bigger club than that and they are getting old

  3. Offer him a 3 yr deal is fair for what he has put in for the club. He wants to end off well and create a legacy in Liverpool. Moreover, a player’s desire to win titles for the club as well as working so well with one another over the yrs what Klopp has built up. Offer it to him and go for the win!
