With the official announcement that West Ham are in takeover talks (likely with MSI, the company who arranged the Tevezcherano transfer, or someone related to them) the dodgiest transfer of the summer just got a tad bit dodgier.
Most suspected it was coming, and the reaction from West Ham supporters hasn’t exactly been one of unbridled delight. Over at kumb.com, the reactions range from weighing up the pros and cons of becoming “West Hamski” , to a typically dramatic “West Ham F.C. – RIP“. Confusion is understandably rife, with fans torn between losing the soul of their club and – of course – the lure of the cash and potential glory.
Given the Tevezcherano deal, it’s hard to believe that the takeover will fall through. And as with Portsmouth and Aston Villa, our money is on yet another club only criticising and taking a stand against what Chelsea have done to football until it happens to them.
The slippery slope the Premiership is on just gets slipperier and slipperier. So slippery that we had to make up a word for it.
