What’s Bothering: Arsenal

As much as we all link to think we’re experts on everything football, the reality is that it’s difficult enough to keep up with all the goings on at our own clubs let alone the hot topics of our rivals. Not that we would ever let that get in the way of telling them otherwise for the sake of a good argument.

So in What’s Bothering, we’ll put the spotlight on a particular Premiership club and see what issues or topics the supporters are talking about. It may be insightful, it may be embarassing, it may be down right shocking.

This time, it’s What’s Bothering: Arsenal,

– It seems that the Thierry Henry’s ‘Prove-Thyself-Worthy’ attitude towards the club last season still stings amongst many supporters, and apparently sulking on the pitch and shaking your head at teamates for not playing the perfect pass may not qualify as leadership.

– Arseblog changed its tune quite quickly over the club’s transfer dealings, that’s what transfer window madness will do for you.

– Apparently neutrals aren’t the only ones bothered by Arsenal’s lack of English talent, which now consists of Theo Walcott. Even though the discussion is entitled ‘Lack of English players? Who cares!‘ it does feature some varied opinions, though the “Who cares!” bit prevails.

– Like the rest of us, what started as a joke at the World Cup, then cautious optimism at the start of the season, has turned the realisation that Theo Walcott is probably going to start at Euro 2008.

– Mass hysteria and delight at securing Chelsea’s William Gallas, devastation and nostalgia as Zinedine Cygan departs.
