Latest Transfer Rumours: Berbatov, Curtis Davies, Terry, Ribery, Solskjaer, Hargreaves, Gray and Roberts

The world of Premiership transfer rumours is full of nonsense, but some nonsense is more interesting that the other nonsense. Speculation is rife in the likes of the Mirror, Daily Mail, Times, Sun and… err… Tribal Football all do their best to predict and/or completely make up the future.

Here’s our opinion on the rumours we’ve read in the papers and around the net… and if you have any thoughts, pop em in the comments.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol values in-form striker Dimitar Berbatov at over £40m, but insists he would never sell the Bulgarian despite reported interest from Manchester United and LiverpoolCaughtOffside Says:Tottenham may never WANT to sell, but as they’ve already learned with Michael Carrick – this one will be up to the player. But Dimitar spent ages at Leverkeusen despite interest from plenty of bigger clubs, he chose to go to Tottenham and it looks good that he’ll be more of a legend than a mercernary.

West Ham want to sign Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer whether or not they are relegatedCaughtOffside Says:Veteran leadership and experience for the Hammers, but if Ole has quite happily been a part of Manchester United in any capacity – whether on the bench, starting, injured, cleaning the latrines – for this long then we can’t really see him moving to another club in England.

Bayern Munich’s Owen Hargreaves says Manchester United is the only team he wants to join as they have made such an effort to sign himCaughtOffside Says: Yes, we get it. Hargreaves to United. Get it over with already.

Everton are interested in signing Blackburn’s Michael Gray, who will be out of contract in the summerCaughtOffside Says: Exactly the kind of move that earns you plaudits from the continent.

Inter Milan want to sign Chelsea’s John TerryCaughtOffside Says:Good on them, sad that Chelsea are the only side with more financial muscle than Inter. The move only looks a good one if Terry wants to win Serie A for the next decade or so.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still tracking Marseille winger Franck RiberyCaughtOffside Says: This one again? Thought Wenger was all about the kids. But Ribery would add a bit more bite, although he’s again more of a creator than a goal scorer.

Jason Roberts could leave Blackburn in the summer after failing to regain his first-team place after recovering from injuryCaughtOffside Says: Blackburn upgraded significantly with Nonda and McCarthy, being able to let a Premiership staple like Jason Roberts go is a sign they’re on the up.

Spurs will sign West Brom defender Curtis Davies for £7m in the summer, with Anthony Gardner possibly going in the other directionCaughtOffside Says: With doubts around Ledley King’s long term fitness, Spurs might be looking for a replacement. Sending Anthony Gardner the other way only sweetens the deal… for Tottenham.
