Latest Transfer Rumours: Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham, Aston Villa, Man United, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland and West Brom

The world of Premiership transfer gossip is full of nonsense, but some nonsense is more interesting that the other nonsense. Speculation is rife in the likes of the Mirror, Daily Mail, Times, Sun and… err… Tribal Football all do their best to predict and/or completely make up the future.

Here’s our opinion on the Premiership transfer rumours we’ve read in the papers and around the net… and if you have any thoughts, pop em in the comments.

Arsenal will table a £20m offer for Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, but AC Milan are claiming there is no way the Cameroonian will choose the Gunners over them.CaughtOffside Says: Eto’o seems like one with a massive ego on his head, and with Henry gone there are going to be few truly big name players who want to step into a young Arsenal side to be their leader. Most players at the big clubs want to be surrounded by the biggest players, and the Gunners are sorely lacking in that area without Thierry.

Image rights are the stumbling block for Lampard and John Terry, with Lampard turning down Chelsea’s highest ever wage offer:CaughtOffside Says: It’s always nice to read about footballers having their priorities straight. Image rights, huh?

Wayne Bridge, Lassana Diarra and Geremi could be in a job-lot move from Chelsea to Newcastle.CaughtOffside Says: Given that Chelsea struggled with injuries and squad depth last season, we can not imagine that three of their key role players would be discarded by Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson is in the middle of a tug of war between Sunderland and Sheffield United.CaughtOffside Says: We’ll make it easy for him. Sunderland.

Sunderland hope to catch Chelsea and Manchester United on the back foot with an early move for Heerenveen’s Brazilian striker Afonso Alves.CaughtOffside Says: Yes, ssssh. It’s a secret, there is no way Chelsea and United will ever find out. Tee hee.

Bolton want to sign Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy.CaughtOffside Says: New manager, same transfer strategy. Murphy has enjoyed the greatest life the past couple year at Tottenham. A fat wage, play a bit of light footy during the week before getting the weekend off, and shagging an incredibly hot wife.

Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with free-spending Spurs. Both clubs have targeted £8m-rated West Brom defender Curtis Davies.CaughtOffside Says: What odds on Spurs outspending Arsenal by 30 odd million pounds, the Gunners losing Henry, but then still losing out to them for fourth on the last day of the season?

Everton want Preston’s David Nugent but will not go above £4m.CaughtOffside Says: Finally. Nugesy is one we want to see in the Premiership given all the hype, at best he’ll be a new Robbie Keane and at worst he’ll be an utter toss ass clown.
