Premiership fans often get a bad reputation of being a fickle, hard to please lot. But new Spurs signing Younes Kaboul has shown just how easy it is,
“Why did I choose Tottenham? Simply because it is the Premier League,” the 21-year-old told France Football.
“It is true there was contact with Lyon, but maybe Tottenham showed more desire to sign me.
“Considering the clubs which were following me, Chelsea and Juventus, people are surprised by my decision, and they tell me I chose a smaller club.
“But I believe it is a wise choice.”
We can speculate all we like about why he chose Spurs over Chelsea but the usual “He’ll play more at a smaller club” excuse doesn’t really apply, especially as the promise of playing more goes out the window considering how well cemented Ledley King and Michael Dawson are when fit. But while only Younes himself will know his reasons, it won’t stop Spurs fans from telling their Chelsea mates their best guesses.
