Tottenham Striker Doesn’t Realise He Has No Chance

The Daily Mail is reporting on the latest Spurs starlet to pop his head above the parapet, and the poor little lamb is actually claiming to be a striker. Will Thomas Pekhart, a Czech Under-18 international be able to displace the bevy of expensive forwards above him in the pecking order? If their 16.5 million new signing can barely get a game what chance does he have?

Pekhart was named in the UEFA squad to face Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus, but after it transpired he wasn’t registered for the competition, more fantastic examples from Spurs on how to run a football club, the young scamp had to stay back in London. Pekhart said:

“I was very much looking forward to travelling there and then was even sorrier that it did not work out. On the other hand, it might have been a sign that they really count on me for the future. I hope it was not just a coincidence.”

It seems as if Pekhart is aware that standing in the way of his dreams of first team football, is a hugely expensive array of striking talent, who have commanded combined transfer fees that would sustain Liechtenstein for a decade. Pekhart added:

“I don’t want to rush it at any cost, I want to be prepared for that as much as possible. I know that I may get only a single chance to play for the first team. And if I don’t perform well, then I might not be given another. It is true though that to play for Tottenham’s first team is my big dream. I must work hard and be patient.”

And after all those sensible quotes Pekhart then ruined it all by also exhibiting the advanced brainwashing techniques used at White Hart Lane, the poor lad obviously thinks he is playing for title contenders. Pekhart said:

“It is true that competition at Tottenham is huge. But for me it is great that I can learn a lot from such champions. After training I often stay with them and we practice shooting, or I can visit our specialist coaches with whom we can practise one-on-ones or technique.”

Tottenham have a very talented squad, but champions? Hmm…
