Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba received a healthy slice of praise from his teammate John Terry after his barnstorming performance against Rosenborg last night, scoring twice in Chelsea’s Drogba 4-0 thumping of Rosenborg; and the scariest part is – Drogba wasn’t even fully fit!
“I am not at my best yet physically but I will always give everything for the team. Sometimes you can be in good shape and not score and then feel bad and get goals. Football is about being there at the right moment even if you are not 100 per cent.”
The Ivorian also highlighted the fact that they have been playing sexy football under Grant, Droggers said:
“Everybody saw our performance. I am not talking about the result, but the way we played and people can talk about that. The attacking play was full of variety and we passed the ball at the right times. It would be hard to play better but there is always something you can improve. Maybe we could have scored more goals. Now we need to keep winning in the league.”
Drogba also claimed that the previous bullet-proof Chelsea confidence is returning, especially for Drogba himself who was said to have fallen to his knees and wept at Mourinho’s departure. Drogba said:
“This team is full of big players and have the character to recover after a difficult time. We were a bit down and the confidence was not top, but we know what we can do and we are playing better now than a few weeks ago. We have worked hard and the confidence is back. The best answer is always on the pitch.”
So is this a case of watch out Premier League or stop getting carried away with beating Rosenborg?
