Arsenal in for random African Tresor Mputu

Arsene Wenger is again attempting to sign another random, yet cheap, African to his side of elitists. Tresor Mputu, who plays for TP Mazembew in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a striker who has been branded as the next Samuel Eto’o. Mputu has already had a 10 day trial with the Gunners earlier in the year, and it has been reported that Arsenal are on the brink of signing the young striker for a mere sum of £500,000. It was Kolo Toure who signed for Arsenal for £150,000, and there is a distinct possibility that Mputu may achieve the same heights of Kolo Toure who was apart of the Arsenal Invincibles in 2003/2004. This possible signing could signify a loss of a striker at Arsenal as their forward list is extremely long. Tresor Mputu could be a replacement for Danish International Nicklas Bendtner – or he could be signed just to add depth to an already deep squad in regards to forwards.

Mputu’s agent Bajo Bujani has said:

“While Seville have also shown great interest, I believe Tresor will end up in England.

“Arsenal have given TP Mazembe until Monday to respond to their offer.

“I’m convinced that the deal will be completed after the weekend.”

Could this be another stellar signing by the architect Arsene Wenger? Or is this just pure speculatuon?
