Young Croatian Modric asserts his power over Chelsea’s Abramovich

The Dinamo Zagreb starlet has been targeted by such prestige clubs as Manchester United, Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea – and due to recent reports, Chelsea seem to be leading the race – until now.

Modric firmly stated:

“I’ve read in papers that Chelsea would sign me and then loan me to Dutch side PSV. That’s nonsense.

“I do not know anything about that. But the transfer period is a long one and we will see. My wish was always to move to Spain. I’d like to leave this winter.”

Spain? These reports must be, as Modric has said, “nonsense”. Chelsea seemed to be ready to offer the papers to young Luka Modric, however, these recent comments have surely added a new aspect to this prolonged rumour. Arsenal were believed to be interested in Modric upon signing team mate Eduardo da Silva, however, the transfer period deadline seemed to beat Arsenal in signing the youngster. A twist in the Modric tale – is it significant? We shall see.
