Guardian journalist David Hytner today reports that Avram ‘The Entertainer’ Grant is still banging on about how he has changed Chelsea’s style of play, Grant cited the ‘the new way of training, the new way of messages’ as if to illustrate the ‘different way’ that Chelsea have taken under Grant. However, many remain skeptical that Grant has actually done anything radical apart from shuffle the cutlery a bit at the canteen.
David Hytner claims that the perfect occasion for Grant to prove us all wrong is coming this weekend with the Arsenal match, Hytner writes:
“Stamford Bridge regulars have failed to discern radical changes from the Mourinho years. The team continue to win, they are unbeaten in 16 matches but pulse rates in the stands have generally not veered from the regular. This Sunday, though, offers an opportunity. The game at Arsenal in the Premier League takes them to the home of the team hailed for championing the beautiful game. The perception grates at Chelsea and Grant is determined to alter it. “
So are Chelsea really any different, and will they be able to out-style Arsenal?
