Macedonian striker keen to see Cavani remain in Naples.

Napoli striker Goran Pandev has urged the club to do everything they can to keep hold of his team mate Edinson Cavani according to talkSport.

Cavani has been in impressive form for the Serie A side this summer and currently sits top of the league’s top scorers chart.

His goals have fired Napoli into second place in the Italian league and his performances have not gone unnoticed.

A number of top European sides have been linked with the player’s signature in recent months, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger stating his interest in January.

More worryingly for Napoli, a number of those clubs are owned by wealthy benefactors for whom money is no object if they are determined to sign a player.

Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG are amongst the favourites to land the player and Cavani looks certain to leave the club this summer after Napoli President Aurelio Di Laurentiis admitted the player has a release clause in his contract thought to be around £60 million.

Pandev has acknowledged that the club will be powerless to resist an offer in that region but has urged the club to pull out all the stops to persuade Cavani to remain in Italy.

Pandev insisted the team had to hold on to the likes of Cavani, Marek Hamsik and manager Walter Mazzarri if they wanted to be successful.
