Andre Vilas-Boas ready to build his team around Gareth Bale.
Tottenham are preparing to sell a number of their squad this summer as they look to regroup after missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League according to The Mirror.
The White Hart Lane side were left heart-broken after once more finding themselves denied access to Europe’s elite club competition on the last day of the season.
But Spurs boss Andre Vilas-Boas is ready to put that right next time out and is ready to pursue an aggressive transfer policy over the coming months.
First out of the door is likely to be Manu Adebayor who has been in disappointing form for most of the season and managed a paltry tally of just five Premier League goals. Joining him is likely to be Clint Dempsey who has failed to replicate his form for Fulham at White Hart Lane.
They are likely to be replaced by one or more from Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, Barcelona striker David Villa, Zenit St Petersburg’s Hulk or Lisandro Lopez from Lyon.
Jermain Defore is reportedly likely to have to accept a place on the bench after his manager became increasingly frustrated with his inability to hit the back of the net following the turn of the year.
Defoe still managed a respectable eleven goals but may find his role reduced to that of impact sub.
