Duo set to sign new deals at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are ready to begin negotiations with Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry over a new deal according to The Independent.
The pair both have just one year remaining on their current deals and the club are keen to tie down their futures to the club.
Both Tevez and Barry have come in for criticism over the previous months as City have relinquished the Premier League title to their city rivals Manchester United.
But City chief Ferran Soriano has insisted the pair are ‘very good players’ and have an important part to play in City’s future.
Tevez has been widely linked with a move in recent months with reported interest coming from France.
It has been suggested that both PSG and Monaco were preparing big money moves for the player but it seems that City are ready to turn down their advances and persuade Tevez to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Soriano hinted that there could be a number of new arrivals in the coming days but insisted there would be fewer than six new faces at the Etihad Stadium this summer.
He went on to dismiss the prospect of striker Sergio Aguero leaving the club. The Argentine forward has been linked with a move to Spanish side Real Madrid.
