FC Ashdod midfielder Nir Biton has reportedly set his sights on a move to the Premier League this summer, according to talkSPORT.
The midfielder is currently impressing with his country in the European under-21 Championships and captained the side in their 1-0 victory over England earlier this week and was desperately unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself after thundering the crossbar late in the second half.
He undertook a trial with Manchester City last July but failed to secure a permanent deal but he has reacted to the news that eight Premier League scouts were in attendance during the tournament and he hopes to have done enough to earn a second chance at a top flight English club.
“I think England is the dream of every player, and it is my dream,” he said.
I will be very happy to play there.
“I read today on the internet that Benfica have checked [on me], but I will look after the tournament and find my best way to my future and I will do the best thing for me. And I hope it will be good.”
Biton has made over 120 appearances for Ashdod, scoring 13 goals and has collected six full caps with the Israeli national side.
