Coach is wary of away game threat
The Seladangs have been drawn with 2 League Champions in their group for the Malaysia Cup.
Lions XII the Current Malaysian Super league holders and Sarawak FA, the current champs of the Malaysian Premier League. were drawn into Perak’s group. Kedah FA make up the fourth team in Group D.
Even with two lower league teams coach Khor is being cautious about his teams chances of success, he told Goal.com: “these are not easy games and to my knowledge, Kedah will be a tough nut to crack. We want to go far in this competition but we’ll take it one stage at a time.
“We are slightly worried about the pitch at the Jalan Besar Stadium( home of Lions XII but we will ensure that we adjust to the conditions. It will also be tough to visit Sarawak as we know the atmosphere there can be intimidating”.
Perak haven’t won a trophy for five years now, their last being the Malaysian Cup and Malaysian Super League double in 2007.
Even after a less than inspiring campaign, Captain Shahrul Nizam is feeling confident his side can put a good run together.
He told Goal.com “It is a fair draw and everyone has a chance. We have an injury free squad at the moment; this includes myself, so we are feeling confident going into the competition.
“We will try our best to progress as far as possible in the competition and being in the final would mean a big achievement.”
