Winger is currently the top scorer in the Segunda Liga.
Premier League champions Manchester United are interested in signing Benfica B wide man Ivan Cavaleiro when the winter transfer window finally opens once again for business for the year in January, according to reports in the Sun.
The former Portugal Under-20 international has been attracting the attentions of the Red Devils of late, with new United head coach David Moyes having recently sent scouts out to the Portuguese capital to watch Cavaleiro in action first hand.
Cavaleiro, 19, has been playing for the Lisbon giants’ second team for just the past two campaigns now, having made his debut for them in a Segunda Liga match against Braga B last August.
In the intervening period, the highly rated winger has managed to hit the back of the net on 19 occasions in total in just 48 appearances for Benfica B, goalscoring form that has seemingly attracted the attention of the Premier League giants, with Cavaleiro currently the top scorer in the Portuguese second division after netting a hat-trick against Academico de Viseu on the weekend.
And it is believed that with Moyes known to be currently on the look-out for a new wide man to bring to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ come the new year to replace the under-performing Antonio Valencia in the north west, Cavaleiro could be that player.
