Centre back has been a rock for the Blues under Mou.
Chelsea are set to hand in-form defender Gary Cahill a new bumper long-term deal in order to both reward the Englishman for his brilliant form at the back so far in this campaign, and also ward off interest in the player from Premier League rivals, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.

Cahill has been at Stamford Bridge now since January 2012, when the centre back joined the west London club from Bolton Wanderers in a deal worth £7m.
However, Cahill has really stepped up another level under the watchful guidance of new Blues head coach Jose Mourinho this season, so much so that the 28-year-old is now considered to be the self-styled Special One’s first-choice partner at the back for club captain John Terry.
And so to reward the central defender for his outstanding displays at the heart of the west Londoners’ defence, the Portuguese now wants to hand Cahill a contract extension that will keep the player at the club until the summer 0f 2017.
Cahill has featured in 21 matches in total in this campaign in all competitions for Chelsea, 13 of which have come in the Premier League, during which time the England international has scored one goal.
