Wide man had been expected to join the Reds until the end of the campaign.
Liverpool are set to miss out on the loan capture of exciting young FC Barcelona forward Cristian Tello during the January transfer window after the La Liga champions opted not to allow the Spaniard to move to Anfield after all this month, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Merseyside giants have been closely monitoring Tello’s situation at Camp Nou over the course of the past few months, with Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers hoping to be able to persuade Barca to allow the 22-year-old to join the Premier League side when the January transfer window reopened for business.
However, it now appears as though the Northern Irishman’s chances of luring Tello to England have all but ended after a recent spate of injuries suffered by the Catalans, especially in the club’s forward areas, meaning that new Barcelona manager Tata Martino cannot now afford to be without the highly rated Spain international’s services for the second half of this campaign.
But Rodgers is understood to still be confident of signing Tello at the end of this season, with the word coming out of the player’s camp currently indicating that the attacker is still far from happy with his present situation in Catalunya.
