Check out these brilliant footballing family trees…

Cesare, Paolo, Christian and Daniel Maldini…

A bloodline of irritatingly good looking, and annoyingly brilliant footballers! Dad Cesare played for the Italian national side, and his son Paulo is widely considered to be one of the greatest defenders of all time. His son Daniel is also is in the AC Milan youth set-up, and is the only person who will be allowed to don the ‘no.3’ shirt, which was retired when Paulo hung up his boots.

Paolo Maldini

Zinedine, Enzo, Luca, Theo and Eliaz Zidane…

Here’s some youngsters who are truly blessed with pretty special footballing genes… All four of the Zidane’s children are on the books at Real Madrid, and Enzo especially has been hyped as a potential star!

Les, Rio, Anton & Kane Ferdinand…

Les Ferdinand is one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers, and his cousins Rio and Anton have made over 600 appearances between them. Rio especially will go down as one of the country’s greatest ever defenders. If this wasn’t enough, Rio and Anton’s 21-year-old cousin Kane is a professional too, currently on loan at Luton Town from Peterborough United.

Bobby and Jack Charlton & Jackie Milburn…

Jackie Milburn was a legendary Newcastle forward who won won three FA Cups in 1950s. Milburn’s cousin gave birth to Bobby and Jack Charlton, who won the World Cup with England in 1996. On top of this, Bobby and Jack’s uncles George, Jimmy, Stanley and John all played lower league professional football!

Arnor and Eidur Gudjohnsen…

Lovely, but sad story this one… Arnor, the Icelandic striker with 76 caps, was brought off the field during his final match for his country in 1996 and replaced his 18-year-old son Eidur. Arnor never played for his country again, while Eidur went on to become his country’s record scorer. Both players state their biggest regret was never being allowed to play on the same pitch together at the same time.

Harry and Jamie Redknapp & Frank Lampard and Frank Lampard Senior…

Here’s another pretty complicated one! Harry Redknapp and Frank Lampard Senior were impressive pro’s in the 80s… Harry married Frank Lampard senior’s sister-in-law, and had Jamie Redknapp. Frank Lampard senior then had Frank Lampard, which makes Harry little Frank’s uncle, and Jamie his cousin!

Ian Wright and his sons, Shaun and Bradley…

Legendary Arsenal striker Ian Wright had two sons who both made it professionally. Shaun, who Ian Wright adopted, was once an England regular, and cost Chelsea a whopping £21m transfer fee in 2005. Bradley, Ian Wright’s biological son, now plies his trade in the MLS for New York Red Bulls!

Diego Maradona, Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi & Benjamin Aguero…

Ok – get this one. Sergio Aguero, the brilliant Manchester City striker, married the daughter of arguably the greatest footballer of all time: Diego Maradona. He then had Benjamin Aguero with her, and made Lionel Messi, the four time consecutive Ballon D’or winner, Godfather! No pressure, son!
