Everton Told To Pay £3m For Stoke City Striker Kenwyne Jones

Toffees may now wait until the summer to land the forward.

Everton want to sign out-of-favour Stoke City front man Kenwyne Jones for just £1m in the January transfer window, however, the Potters are demanding a fee of £3m for the Trinidad and Tobago attacker, according to reports in the Guardian.

Jones’s current deal at the Britannia only now runs until June 30 2014 and so the player will be available on a free transfer this summer, although Stoke would still prefer to offload the 29-year-old in the January transfer window for a cut-price fee rather than lose the player for nothing at the end of the campaign.

Either way, however, Jones’s days as a Stoke striker now appear over.
