The south coast club have recently been thrown into turmoil following the sudden resignation of chairman Nicola Cortese, with the futures of a number of the Saints’ young players now thought to be in doubt this month.
And one of those starlets is Southampton’s newly capped England international, with Lallana having so far enjoyed an eye-catching campaign for the high-flying outfit in the Premier League.
In total, the attacking midfielder has managed to register an impressive six goals and six assists in his 23 matches in all competitions for the Saints, including an equally outstanding five strikes and six assists in his 21 league outings for the club.
And it is that kind of attacking form which has now led to United head coach David Moyes expressing an interest in the coveted 25-year-old as the Red Devils themselves look to rebuild their squad going forward.
However, the Englishman is contracted at present to Southampton until June 30 2018 and so the player will not be cheap to buy this month.
