Premier League champions Manchester United have told big-spending Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain that they are wasting their time trying to sign wide man Adnan Januzaj at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Star.

The Ligue 1 champions have reportedly made the purchase of the brilliant Belgium-born winger as their main priority for when the summer transfer window opens after seeing an initial bid of £15m for Januzaj rejected out of hand by the Red Devils last month.

However, it is understood that the mega-rich Parisians still plan to return with a vastly improved offer for the 19-year-old in order to try to tempt both United and the player himself to make the move to the Parc des Princes.

And as such, PSG are set to hand Januzaj a bumper deal worth a staggering £100,000 per week, which far exceeds the youngster’s current £30,000-per-week contract he is on in the north west.

But a United source says the club have no interest in selling their starlet: “Adnan has a massive role to play in the future of the team and he can go on to become a huge success at United.

“It doesn’t matter what offers might come in for him, he will not be sold because he is not for sale.”
