The experienced Cameroon international has only been at Cam Nou now since August 2012, when the holding midfielder left Premier League side Arsenal to join the La Liga giants on a five-year deal for a transfer fee of £12m.
However, it is fair to say that in the intervening two 18-month period at Barca, Song has found it desperately hard to win a regular starting berth in the club’s starting lineup.
In fact, in total the 26-year-old has only managed to feature in a total of 57 matches in all competitions for Barcelona, during which time Song has registered just the one goal and the one assist too, while in the league the water carrier has appeared in 31 matches for his new team.
As a result, the player is now set to be offloaded by Barcelona come the end of the campaign, despite the fact that Song is still contracted to the club until June 30 2017, with interested suitors expected to have to pay £8m for his services.
