It could happen to anyone….
Russian national team boss Fabio Capello made something of an embarrassing error earlier this week with the Metro reporting that the Italian somehow accidentally called up the wrong player to his squad.
Capello is said to have called up Lokomotiv Moscow defender Andrey Semenov, this despite the fact that the 21 year old had never even played a first team game for his club side who in turn joyously posted news of his call-up to their official club website.
It turns out however that Capello had in fact meant to name an entirely different Andrey Semenov, who is a regular in Terek Grozny’s defence.
The younger Semenov was apparently ecstatic to be named in the Russian national team set-up though will unfortunately not be taking part in the upcoming friendly with Armenia.
