The highly rated young England Under-21 international has been attracting the attentions of both Premier League champions Manchester United and Uefa Europa League holders Chelsea for some time now, with both outfits known to be preparing big-money offers for Shaw this summer.

However, now it is understood that City are also keen on the 18-year-old with head coach Manuel Pellegrini said to be determined to bring a new left back to Eastlands for next season with the experienced Chilean having lost faith with both Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov of late.

But City know though that it will not be easy to convince the defender to join them instead of the Red Devils or the Blues, especially as it is widely assumed that Shaw has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge if and when he does decide to leave the south coast club.

And that is because the Englishman is known to have supported the west Londoners as a boy, while his parents also live close by to the club’s training ground in Cobham.
