The Merseyside outfit have made the purchase of a new left-sided full back their absolute number one priority for when the summer transfer window does finally reopen on July 1 after Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers opted not to take up the option to sign on-loan Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
And that is because the Northern Irishman wants to lure the young Spain international to Anfield instead, although initially the Premier League side thought that they would have to battle with La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid for Moreno’s signature this summer with the Spaniards thought to be looking for a replacement for Portugal international Fabio Coentrao at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, that is not now believed to be the case, with los Blancos said to not want to get involved in a bidding war with Liverpool for the Spaniard, who his employers in Andalucia are understood to value at £15m.
