Tottenham player ratings from demolition of Sunderland at the Lane.
SEE ALSO: The Top Ten Possible Replacements for Tim Sherwood at Tottenham
Hugo Lloris: 7
Powerless to stop Cattermole’s well-placed finish. Had little to do otherwise. Spurs must keep him in the summer.
Kyle Naughton: 7
Relatively untroubled and had a decent effort fly narrowly wide with Spurs 1-0 down.
Danny Rose: 5
Poor. Got in several promising positions but failed to deliver a final ball. Also gave away too many silly fouls. Perhaps he still has a soft spot for the Black Cats?
Vlad Chiriches: 4
Dreadful error to gift Cattermole his first Sunderland goal. Improved thereafter.
Younes Kaboul: 7
Wasn’t tested by Sunderland’s toothless attack. It’s good to see him get a sustained run in the team after so many injuries.
Aaron Lennon: 6
No final ball, as ever, and his decision making was poor. Will he ever be dropped?
Christian Eriksen: 10
Magnificent. The Dane was at the centre of everything Tottenham did going forward, despite being played out of position on the left flank. Fully deserved two assists and a goal.
Paulinho: 6
Tidy but is this man really Brazil’s starting central midfielder?
Nacer Chadli: 7
Impressed in a central role. Some tidy passing but faded in the second half.
Harry Kane: 8
Great Premier League debut for the youngster, who grabbed a deserved goal and could have won a penalty.
Emmanuel Adebayor: 9
The Togolese returned to the team and was back to his best, bagging two goals with canny finishes. Key to Spurs’ hopes of finishing strongly.
SUBS:
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Chadli – 82′): 7
Grabbed another goal from close range to continue his strong finish to the season.
Andros Townsend (Lennon – 84′): 6
Not enough time. He must be worried about his England place.
Milos Veljkovic (Paulinho – 88′): 6
No time. Nice for the 18-year-old to get a first team debut.
