Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is readying an audacious move for a pair Chelsea youngsters he hopes to lure to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

CaughtOffside understands that Wenger hopes to tempt Jose Mourinho into offloading Romelu Lukaku and Thorgan Hazard as the Chelsea manager looks to fund a significant Blues spending spree with the sales of players he doesn’t feel are part of his long term plans.

Having seen Mourinho happily sell Juan Mata to Man United in January Wenger will look to convince the Portuguese manager into once again selling to a Premier League rival.

Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa and Mourinho by opting to loan out Lukaku to Everton he illustrated to 21 year old Belgian forward that he isn’t a player he values as a first choice starter, which could well work in Wenger’s favour.

Wenger wants to bring in the talented youngster to challenge Olivier Giroud as he looks to strengthen an attack that this season was overly reliant on the French international.

Lukaku netted 17 Premier League goals during his loan spell at West Brom and bagged 15 this term at Goodison Park and will not be happy about returning to Stamford Bridge just to warm the bench and may feel another loan move would simply serve to confirm his status as a player who is very much ‘surplus to requirements’ at the west London club.

Arsene Wenger has also set his sights on highly rated attacker Thorgan Hazard and has scouted the 21 year old during his two season spell at Zulte Waregem.

Hazard also faces a tough task of forcing his way ahead of a host of world-class talents in order to secure a spot in Mourinho’s first team and may be tempted by a move to play under Wenger, who is of course well known for his willingness to trust to youth.

Thorgan Hazard is on the standby list for Marc Wilmots 2014 World Cup finals squad and is a player with bags of potential and is the style of player that very much suits the manner in which Wenger likes his sides to play.

Arsenal are ready to offer up to £36m for the duo.
