With the west London side having already officially confirmed the capture of Spanish international Cesc Fabregas and with striker Diego Costa all but a done deal it appears that Brazilian Luis will be the latest in what could be a very long list of new recruits moving to Stamford Bridge.
28 year old Luis had a standout campaign at the Vicente Calderon last term and looks certain to replace veteran Ashley Cole as Chelsea’s first choice left-sided defender and will join fellow countrymen Oscar, Ramires and Lucas Piazon at the club.
Luis moved to Atletico Madrid in July 2010 and has barely been out of the first team set-up since but despite his successes in Spain he has only secured four national team caps and the former Deportivo La Coruna man may feel that a high-profile move to Chelsea could aid his push for a more prominent role with the Selecao
