Old Trafford side offered hope in push for long term target.
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to accept Man United’s ongoing advances for midfielder Sami Khedira according to El Confidencial.
Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti is happy to offload the 27 year old German, who missed most of last season through injury, and has already begun looking into the possibility of landing alternative midfield targets with the likes of Chelsea’s Ramires and Juventus youngster Paul Pogba on his radar.
Man United have been pursuing Khedira for some time and Louis van Gaal is keen to bring in the tough tackler to offer some real steel in the middle of the park and this source claims an offer of €35m (£27.9m) would be enough to see the La Liga side sell the former Stuttgart man.
Khedira moved to the Spanish capital in July 2010 and has his ups and downs at the club and is now fighting the likes of Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric and youngster Asier Illarramendi for a regular starting spot and therefore may be open to a move to Man United.
Last term David Moyes unwisely elected to use Belgian Marouane Fellaini in a holding role, a move that didn’t pay off, and as such his Man United side had a very soft centre that was frequently beaten down by the opposition, hence the need for van Gaal to address this area of concern this summer.
