Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has identified four players that he wants to sign this summer, according to The Mirror.

The Saints have sold three of their best players from last season already – with striker Rickie Lambert and midfielder Adam Lallana having signed for Liverpool and left-back Luke Shaw having joined Manchester United.

Croatian defender Dejan Lovren could also be set to move to Anfield, leaving Koeman, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino at St Mary’s last month, with a big rebuilding job on his hands.

Here are the players that Koeman is reportedly keen to bring in to cover the losses of his departing stars.

1. Dusan Tadic

Serbia winger Tadic is seen as a direct replacement for Lallana.

Southampton have reportedly agreed a £10m deal with FC Twente for the 25-year-old winger, who scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in 33 Eredivisie games last season.

Lallana played 38 Premier League games last term, scoring nine goals and making six assists.

Tadic also has a better international record than Lallana, having scored six goals in 25 senior outings for Serbia, compared to the Englishman’s zero goals in nine matches.

2. Graziano Pelle

Lambert scored 14 goals in all competitions for Southampton last season and Koeman hopes to bring in 28-year-old Feyenoord striker Pelle to take over his attacking duties.

Pelle has netted 50 times in 57 league games for Feyenoord, after being brought to Rotterdam by Koeman in 2012.

He has never been capped at senior international level, but he scored freely for his country’s Under-20 side in his youth and also represented the Azzurri at the 2008 Olympic Games.
3. Ben Davies

Swansea City’s Davies is top of Koeman’s list of left-backs.

However, Southampton face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur for the 21-year-old, who already has 10 senior Welsh caps to his name.

Davies started 32 Premier League games and four Europa League matches for the Swans last season.
4. Virgil van Dijk

Celtic centre-back Virgil van Dijk is the man Koeman will look at if Lovren does leave Southampton to join the Liverpool revolution.

Van Dijk is valued at around £10m by the Scottish champions and Newcastle United are also interested in the giant Dutchman.

The 22-year-old, who is said to be keen on a move to England, was a key part of the Celtic backline that kept 25 league clean sheets last season.
