5) Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)

After two years out on loan and no sign of working his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans at Chelsea, young Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has made it pretty clear that he wants to be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis this summer. The 21-year-old looks like one of the best young players in Europe after his performances with first West Bromwich Albion and then Everton, and seems deserving of a chance to play regularly for a top European club side. With Belgium exiting the World Cup, Lukaku has hinted that he will be looking to make a decision on his future soon, with a host of big sides seemingly ready to take him on. Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have been mentioned as potential suitors, while Everton would no doubt like to keep him permanently, so it remains to be seen who will match Chelsea’s valuation of the player and where he will select to play his football next.

4) Dejan Lovren (Southampton)

After just one season with Southampton, Dejan Lovren‘s impressive performances look to have earned him big interest from a host of top Premier League sides, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all mentioned as interested in him. Having already snapped up two other Saints stars in Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert, Liverpool look the favourites to make it a third signing from the St Mary’s club, with offers of around £20m already being rejected. Southampton may be holding out for around £25m for the Croatian centre-back, but the player’s desire to leave may force them to accept a lower offer. Lovren has been quoted as saying he is ready to go on strike from the club’s pre-season tour in order to force an exit, saying his head is already at Liverpool.

3) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

Arsenal have been boosted in their efforts to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira this summer with the news that the German international midfielder, who was in inspired form as his country thrashed Brazil 7-1 just two nights ago, has rejected the latest offer of a new contract from the Spanish giants in an attempt to leave the Bernabeu. A host of other top clubs have been linked with the former Stuttgart ace in previous times, and with his current deal ending next year he could leave for relatively cheap ahead of the new season. Unhappy with his current role in the Madrid side, Khedira has also demanded he be the highest paid player at the Emirates Stadium, which may throw a spanner in the works in terms of him moving to the north London giants.

2) Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich)

After rejecting several contract offers to stay at Bayern Munich, midfielder Toni Kroos looks almost certain to have worked his way out of the Allianz Arena this summer, with Real Madrid looking like his most likely destination. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with the classy 24-year-old in recent times after his impressive displays for the Bavarian giants in the last couple of seasons, but a big-money offer from Real looks to have sealed a deal for him to choose a move to the Bernabeu as the next step in his career. Despite making a name for himself at Bayern, and the continued efforts of his club to keep him, Kroos has clearly had no intention of staying for some time now, and looks increasingly likely to get his wish this summer.

1) Luis Suarez (Liverpool)

After numerous comments last summer about wanting to escape the English press and get out of the country as he tried to engineer a move to Real Madrid, Luis Suarez is now set to get his wish just a year later as he closes in on a move to Barcelona. The Uruguayan has kept relatively quiet this year, not resorting to the same antics as last time, but his slightly contrived apology for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup looked to have been an attempt to appeal to Barcelona and convince them to step up their interest in bringing him to the Nou Camp in this transfer window. Despite everything Liverpool have done for him through his vast array of embarrassing and controversial incidents, Suarez has shown little loyalty to his employers as he sought to move on to further his career.
