St James’ Park look to complete hopeful Emirates Stadium raid.
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has set his sights on a trio of Arsenal players according to the Daily Star.
The Magpies have targeted Carl Jenkinson as a potential replacement for Mathieu Debuchy, Pardew perhaps hopeful of luring the England man to St James’ Park given that his first team chances will have been greatly damaaged by the arrival of the Frenchman at the Emirates Stadium.
As well as approaching the Gunners in pursuit of Jenkinson Pardew has also expressed an interest in Costa Rica international Joel Campbell and German youngster Serge Gnabry, two players who could certainly benefit from some Premier League experience.
Campbell has spent the last three seasons away on loan and could struggle to secure a first team berth at Arsenal given the arrival of Alexis Sanchez whilst Gnabry, though a player with great potential, may find it similarly tough to make it into Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven with the German teenager making just five Premier League starts last term.
Newcastle United have already signed Ayoze Pérez, Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Emmanuel Rivière and Daryl Janmaat and Pardew appears to have the backing of owner Mike Ashley, and such additions should help the club to push for a top six finish.
