Man United Want to Sign Impressive £91m Trio Before Transfer Window Slams Shut

Old Trafford side look to do significant business in the tail end portion of the summer transfer window.

Man United boss Louis van Gaal appears desperate to complete a deal or two before the transfer window slams shut with the Daily Mail reporting on three deals that the Dutchman wants done this summer.

The Old Trafford side brought in Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera from Southampton and Athletic Bilbao respectively, deals that were completed early in the summer window, however things have been eerily quiet in the signings department since for the best part of six weeks.

Chief executive Ed Woodward has been tasked with the job of getting deals done and many may feel that he is not doing nearly as good a job as his predecessor David Gill.

Angel di Maria (Real Madrid)

Man United are ready to invest as much as £100m into a deal to bring in the 26 year old Argentine winger, such is their desire to bring in a ‘Marquee’ capture.

The Premier League side will offer Real Madrid £50m for the wide-man and have drawn up a wage package worth £200k a week, amounting to as much as £52m over the life-span of the five year contract.

One imagines that van Gaal consideres the former Benfica man as a far more suitable wide attacking option than the likes of Nani, Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck and Luis Antonio Valencia and is as such keen to offer big money to acquire his services.

Marcos Rojo (Sporting Lisbon)

Man United are reportedly in talks to sign the adaptable Argentine defender with the £24m rated Sporting Lisbon star close to securing a move to Old Trafford.

Rojo can play effectively at centre-back as well as on the left-flank in either a full-back or a more attack minded wing-back role.

Indeed it is at centre-back that boss Louis van Gaal most urgently needs to strengthen with Man United having to cope with the loss of veteran pair Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic over the summer.

Daley Blind (Ajax)

Former Dutch national team boss Louis van Gaal is seemingly closing in on a move to sign the £17m rated utility man with Ajax boss Frank de Boer open to offers for the versatile performer.

Blind can effectively fill a number of roles, most commonly used either at left-back or in a defensive midfield role, and will offer Louis van Gaal genuine strength in depth and is clearly a player he knows well.

The 24 year old has won four successive Eredivisie titles and may feel the time is right for a fresh challenge having represented the Amsterdam side since the age of eight.
