Tottenham Target Quartet as Mauricio Pochettino Fields Offers for Eight of His White Hart Lane Squad

Things could get very busy at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham could be set for a busy couple of weeks with a number of players being linked with moves to and from White Hart Lane according to the Daily Mail.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino secured a narrow win away at local rivals West Ham in their first Premier League match of the season and may look to trim his expansive squad ahead of further moves to bring in new additions to his Spurs squad.

No less than eight of his squad are said to be garnering interest and one imagines some of those targeted could be deemed surplus to requirements at Tottenham.

Full-backs Kyle Naughton and Benoit Assou-Ekotto could be on their way whilst enquiries have been fielded for centre-back pair Michael Dawson and Vlad Chiriches, neither of whom started at Upton Park on Saturday.

Lewis Holtby is also said to be interesting prospective suitors having spent some of last season on loan at Fulham, similarly Brazilian Sandro could be on his way out.

Roberto Soldado managed just two goals from open play in Premier League action and is also, somehow, attracting attention. It was perhaps telling that Pochettino opted to throw on youngster Harry Kane at the tail end of the Hammers encounter, leaving the Spaniard to warm the bench.

Winger Nacer Chadli makes up this extensive list of assets that Pochettino could look to cash-in on.

Perhaps unsurprisingly two of Mauricio Pochettino’s chief targets come in the form of his former Southampton charges with the Argentine continuing to track Morgan Schneiderlin and sidelined England forward Jay Rodriguez.

Interest in 24 year old French midfielder Schneiderlin would appear to suggest that the White Hart Lane boss is not all that enamoured with the plethora of options he currently possesses in the role.

Pochettino fielded Etienne Capoue and young Algerian Nabil Bentaleb against West Ham and both players did well.

Southampton have already seen a host of players leave and Dutchman Ronald Koeman will hope that he keeps hold of the remainder of his squad in the final days of the transfer window.

Tottenham are also continuing to pursue Villarreal centre-back Mateo Musacchio who could help to solidify the north London outfit’s defence.

Dutch winger Memphis Depay, who impressed greatly at the World Cup finals, is another target Pochettino would like to see chairman Daniel Levy invest in.
