Old Trafford outfit reportedly close to securing three new signings.
Having gone almost two months without capturing a signing, following the early summer acquisitions of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, Man United may well be set to bring in a host of additions before the transfer window slams shut.
Louis van Gaal saw versatile Argentine defender Marcos Rojo complete a £16m move to Old Trafford earlier this week and three other players are reportedly close to completing moves to the Premier League side.

Man United’s desire to bring in further signings may well be fueled by two poor displays, Sunday’s draw at Sunderland marginally more impressive than their opening day defeat at home to Swansea City, and top of the pile could well be a ‘Marquee’ deal that would break the British transfer record by some distance.
Sky Sports claim that Man United have agreed a £63.9m deal to sign Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria.
Such a move would certainly act as a statement of intent by the Premier League side and would greatly improve Louis van Gaal’s options in wide-attacking positions.
Di Maria finished last season as Real Madrid’s leading assist maker, racking up 22 in all competitions, but the arrival of Colombian youngster James Rodriguez has perhaps acted as the catalyst for his impending exit.
The 26 year old Argentine played a key role in Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph last season, putting in a Man of the Match role in the final against local rivals Atletico, and then greatly impressed at the World Cup finals.
A player of real quality the former Benfica man would represent a huge improvement on the likes of Ashley Young, Luis Antonio Valencia and loaned out Portuguese international Nani and is apparently a player Man United are willing to pay a huge price for.
Man United also hope to land Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong with the £10m rated battler an ideal capture to provide Louis van Gaal with some much needed steel in the centre of the park.
Louis van Gaal possesses a host of players who could be described as ‘box to box’ performers but the likes of Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini and Darren Fletcher arguably fall between two stalls whilst De Jong would offer an ‘enforcer’ who can protect the club’s defence as well offering Man United’s more creative talents more time on the ball.
Louis van Gaal is also said to be closing in on another of his former Dutch national team charges with £17m rated utility man Daley Blind close to securing an Old Trafford move.
The 24 year old, who has won four successive Eredivisie titles with Ajax, can offer an effective presence at left-back and as a defensive midfielder and is a player van Gaal knows well.
Blind is comfortable on the ball and a player who rarely puts a foot wrong and could offer Man United more strength in depth in a number of areas.
