Reports in the Daily Mail explain that Celtic picked up the Best Achievement: Marketing prize for stadium Wi-Fi, while Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg took the prize for Best Sporting Progress.

It was a good night all round for Madrid, who were also praised for Best Community & Social Responsibility Programme for the Real Madrid Foundation’s development and education scheme in the Spanish capital’s El Gallinero slum.

The source adds that Pedro López, Real’s vice-president, and Emilio Butragueño, the club’s director of institutional relations, collected the awards at a ceremony in Geneva.

Celtic were highly credited for their stadium-wide Wi-Fi network and a mobile app that provides match day content.

Red Bull Salzburg’s award came following the team winning the Austrian League and narrowly missing out on a place in the Champions League. The two teams will meet in the Europa League group stage later this year.
