Pochettino not a fan of technology in football.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has slammed FIFA chief Sepp Blatter’s plan to introduce video replays into football, report the Daily Star, with the White Hart Lane chief suggesting that football is working currently fine as it is.

Blatter unveiled plans for replays, that are already used in other sports including both codes of rugby and cricket, to be introduced into football in the near future when speaking at the Soccerex convention in Manchester this week, with potential testing to be carried out during the upcoming Under 20 World Cup that is due to be held in New Zealand.
Pochettino, however, is not a fan of Blatter’s proposals, suggesting that the game should not be drawn in by innovations that work in other sports:
“For me, the football is OK. Football is not basketball, football is not tennis: it is a different sport.”
Whilst Pochettino admitted that referees regularly make mistakes, he called upon the age old adage that such moments even themselves out over the course of time:
“The referee decides. it is possible that sometimes he makes a mistake but sometimes for you, sometimes for the opponent.”
The introduction of more technology into football to help match officials has been a constant source of debate over recent years, with football making the first tentative steps in the last couple of seasons as goalline technology has been introduced to major international tournaments and leagues, including the Premier League.
There are reservations from the likes of Pochettino about taking this any further, however, with the potential being there for the game to be slowed down and also concerns about how plans couldn’t be adopted across the board at all levels of football.
